Welcome to the world of Highland Park. As one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, we’ve been crafting exceptional spirits for over 200 years. Our unique sherry-cask aging process gives our whiskey a rich amber color and distinct taste that can’t be found anywhere else in the world.

History of Highland Park

Scotland’s Highland Park distillery was founded in 1798. The first whiskey produced at the distillery was a malt whisky, which was distilled in 1825 and bottled as “Highland Park” in 1831. Today’s Highland Park Distillery is owned by the Mackay family since 1947 and has been producing single malt whiskies ever since then.

It’s located on Orkney Island (itself an archipelago off mainland Scotland) and is surrounded by sea water that helps influence its unique flavor profile–which includes hints of smokey peat mosses found on land nearby or even something called “peat reek” from rotting vegetation underwater!

The Taste of Highland Park

The taste of Highland Park is unique, and it’s the result of a careful blend of ingredients that have been carefully selected for their unique qualities. The result is a smooth and sweet whiskey with complex layers of flavor.

The first thing you’ll notice about Highland Park’s taste is its distinct smoky flavor–a signature characteristic that comes from burning peat moss in kilns to dry out barley during fermentation. This lends an earthy fragrance to your drink, along with hints of spice and floral notes that help give this drink its complexity.

What Makes Highland Park Whiskey Different?

Highland Park Whiskey is a single malt scotch whiskey.

It’s made from 100% malted barley, which means that it has been mashed and fermented like beer. It’s then distilled in a similar way to other whiskeys, but unlike most whiskies, Highland Park isn’t blended with other grains (like corn). This gives it its unique flavor profile–one that you won’t find anywhere else!

It’s aged in sherry casks for at least 12 years before bottling, which gives the spirit its golden color and rich flavor profile. Highland Park has always been known for their exceptional taste because they only use ingredients grown on Orkney Island–a remote area located north of Scotland’s mainland coast–and never add any additives or artificial coloring agents during production processes; everything used comes directly from this land itself!

Highland Park is a unique whiskey experience.

Highland Park is a unique whiskey experience. It’s not just the taste, it’s also how you drink it and what you drink it with.

Highland Park is a traditional whiskey that has been made in the same way since 1836. Our master distillers have been making their award-winning single malts at our distillery in Kirkwall since then, using barley grown on farms across Orkney and water drawn from our own spring on the hillside above us. We use no additives or flavourings of any kind; only time and patience create this truly exceptional liquid gold!

Highland Park is complex: there are notes of honeyed fruit with hints of vanilla coming through on the nose; smooth mouthfeel with sweet fruit flavours; subtle smokey finish

Conclusion

Highland Park is a unique whiskey experience. It has its own history, flavor and taste that sets it apart from other whiskeys on the market today. If you’re looking for something new in your liquor cabinet or would like to try something different with your friends, Highland Park is certainly worth exploring!
